A website is one of the best ways for people to find out about your business; your brand, what services or products you offer, how to contact you, how to give you money etc.
There are some great (and not so great) template-based build-your-own programs available, and it’s tempting to give this a go rather than spending $$$ on hiring a professional designer. However, it’s very important to consider how much you can potentially be losing in sales by doing it yourself, rather than hiring someone to do it for you, someone who really knows how to set it all up and working tirelessly for you.
If you want to try building your own website, our Website 1 and Website 2 half-day courses are a great way to arm yourself with the tools that you will need to try it yourself. Plus, you’ll save HOURS of trial-and-error and trawling through YouTube. Trust us, your hair and nerves with thank you!
Website 1 goes through all the aspects of designing your website that you NEED to know before even picking up a mouse. Website 1 will cover:
SEO - what the freck is it, how does it work, what do you need to do to maximise it
What should you include in your website
How can you make sure that your website is a lean, mean, marketing machine
How does your website fit into your overall marketing strategy
How to write copy (words) that really speak to your audience
How to choose the right images (including making sure that they’re legal!)
Website 1 and 2 will be run by Liz Haselgrove who is an Authorised Trainer for Squarespace, after having built Squarespace websites for nearly a decade. Website 1 will be relevant for all website platforms, including if you outsource it to a designer, although we’ll cover how some of these aspects work on Squarespace sites.
After lunch, we have the Website 2 course which will walk you through how to build your own site in Squarespace. Please make sure that you book in for BOTH sessions if you would like to attend both.
