Government-funded services who can help to make your business successful

 Self Employment Assistance (SEA)

The Self Employment Assistance program replaced the NEIS program in July 2022. The SEA gives further assistance to both start-up businesses and existing businesses who need help. Their key Services are:

  • One-to-One mentoring / general advice sessions (each person can have one or two of these every 12 months)

  • Comprehensive Program - 12 months mentoring / general advice sessions (at least six sessions over the 12 months)

  • Business Health Check (for existing businesses)

  • Business Plan sessions

  • SEA Allowance equivalent to the single person’s allowance if you are eligible to receive assistance from Centrelink and are participating in the Comprehensive Program

  • Business Allowance of $300 towards business expenses such as insurance, websites or equipment. Available if you are participating in the Comprehensive Program

  • Small Business intensive workshop over a full week

  • Qualifications and skill sets, such as a Cert III in Entrepreneurship and New Business

ASBAS - Digital Solutions

Currently run by Business Foundations in WA, the Digital Solutions program gives small business owners access to 3-4 hours of advice and assistance with Digital Experts for only $100+GST. They also deliver workshops.

Many Rivers

A not-for-profit organisation that helps people from low-income households to start and be successful in their business.

  • Free general advice and ongoing mentoring

  • Business plan and feasibility analysis

  • Micro-loans of up to $5000

Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC)

The SBDC is a State Government agency that provides free advice and low cost services to small business owners in Western Australia. For example,

  • Free general advice

  • Advice regarding commercial property leases

  • Free downloadable templates

  • Assistance in chasing debts and resolving disputes

The SBDC also delivers heaps of specific business-related workshops, from Reels to Cyber Security. BOSS is proud to be a provider of some of these workshops for 2023-2026.
